Essential oils for your beauty and health

Essential oils for your beauty and health

At all times, essential oils have been appreciated for their naturalness and pleasant, unobtrusive aroma. In cosmetology, they are used to treat the skin, to give shine and thickness to hair, to improve skin condition and for preventive purposes. We offer you a small overview of the most common oils used in cosmetology.

Properties of essential oils

Essential oil is a mixture of volatile aromatic substances that are released from various parts of plants (roots, wood, resin, seeds, fruits, flowers, etc.). It is an almost transparent (sometimes color is present, but pastel shade) liquid with a characteristic aroma and concentrated taste. The peculiarity of these oils is that they evaporate quickly.

The properties of essential oils depend on the raw materials from which they are obtained. Among the main ones are: bactericidal, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antibacterial, regenerating.

Despite the healing properties of oils, it is worth noting that some of them are strong allergens. Therefore, before use, it is worth doing a small allergy test: apply a small amount of oil to the inside of your wrist and monitor the body's reaction (if unpleasant symptoms appear: itching, redness, hives - you should choose another oil). Pregnancy and lactation may also be contraindications for use, and there are a number of chronic diseases that do not "come together" with certain essential oils (hypo- and hypertension, chronic respiratory diseases, etc.).

Another important point: essential oils for the skin should be used in diluted form (100% concentrated oil will cause irritation). For this, vegetable (base) oils are used.
