There are many beautiful places in Ukraine that deserve attention and provide a wonderful opportunity to relax. And in the spring these places are especially fresh and beautiful. In addition, the air itself beckons you to distant journeys, in anticipation of new impressions, emotions and memorable photos. It is not necessary to go to other countries and look for beauty there, because it can be found almost on every corner in our country. To simplify the search for such places that are famous for their views, the opportunity to fully relax, as well as spring flowering, we have compiled a small overview for you, which you can supplement to your taste.

Sakura blossom in Uzhhorod

The citizens of the regional center of Transcarpathia themselves say that their city is especially beautiful at the end of April, when the sakura opens its flowering season. The whole city seems to be covered with a pink cloud - Uzhhorod is one of the few cities in Ukraine where this tree has taken root, and the mild climate of the area contributes to this. A large number of sakura blossoms on the city embankment, the so-called Sakura Alley, as well as in the center of the old city, which was built back in the Czech period of the city's history. If you plan to stay in the city and admire the sakura, you should take care of your accommodation here in advance: the city organizes the "Sakura Fest", which has already become a tradition, as well as the "Sunny Drink" festival, so it will not be so easy with hotels.

In addition to sakura, Transcarpathia gives our tired eyes a rest in the form of blooming daffodils in the valley of the same name, which is located near the city of Khust. This valley is part of the Carpathian Biosphere Reserve, located in the Kireshy tract. The uniqueness of this area is that it is a natural reserve of daffodils, one of the largest massifs in the world.

However, do not forget to solve the issue of housing in advance - it will not be so easy to find something on the holiday itself.

Lilac grove in the village of Dykanka, Poltava region

The village of Dykanka, glorified by Gogol in his works about Poltava region, is famous not only for its folk traditions, but also has natural wonders of nature - Lilac Grove, Kochubievsky Oaks. One of these oaks is over 800 years old. The best time to relax in this area is in mid-May. That's when you can breathe in the aroma of blooming lilacs, which occupy an area of three hectares.

However, you can admire lilacs not only in distant Dikanka, but also in nearby Kiev - by visiting the National Botanical Garden. About 180 varieties, species and hybrids of this plant are freely located here on an area of 2.5 hectares, this place is considered one of the best lilac gardens in terms of diversity and splendor, especially in May.

Spring can turn an industrial city into a flower oasis. The May Botanical Garden of the city gladly welcomes guests of the city and the townspeople themselves and will delight with huge arrays of blooming lilac bushes. Walks along the narrow paths of the garden will leave a bright mark in the memory of all visitors, because in addition to lilacs, there are many other flowers here that create a romantic spring mood.

Cheremosh, rafting and Dzembronya

The Cheremosh River offers extreme sports enthusiasts an unforgettable journey through the picturesque Carpathians - by water. A rafting tour in May will fill your blood with adrenaline, and your soul with emotions. Rafting clubs offer their services for renting boats and catamarans. Here you can also climb one of the peaks of the Carpathian mountains. You can choose the tour yourself or use the route developed by specialists from relevant agencies. All routes usually start from this point - the village of Dzembronya.

Ballooning Festival in Kamianets-Podilskyi

In mid-May, the sky over Kamianets-Podilskyi is filled with hot air balloons. During this period, the city holds the "Towards the Sun" ballooning festival, which gives the opportunity not only to admire the movement of multi-colored balloons in the sky from the ground, but also to ride through the celestial space yourself. Seeing the city with its fortresses and famous monuments from a height, feeling the spirit of the Middle Ages - this is unlikely to be forgotten and for this reason it is worth choosing the time to come to the city during these days. The international competition "Podilsky Cup" is also planned for the same time. And to top off these festive events, on May 15, the city celebrates its birthday, which is accompanied by a large number of events, surprises and meetings. If you want to take part in these holidays - you should think in advance about accommodation and pocket money, because you can watch the balloons from the ground for free, but you will not be able to ride one of them without money - the cost of one trip is about 2000 UAH. per person.

Flowering Steppes of Askania - Nova

The Askania-Nova Biosphere Reserve is considered the oldest reserve, which also has the largest steppe space in Europe. It looks especially beautiful from late May to mid-June, the time when the feather grass blooms. It covers the entire steppe with a light silvery haze that sways from the slightest movement. The reserve also includes a dendropark, where you can get great pleasure from contemplating blooming catalpas and lilacs. The zoo of the complex is famous for the conditions created for animals - they maximally reflect their natural habitat, and the animals feel like they are in the wild. You can also go on a photo safari, but for this you need to make an appointment in advance and arrive early in the morning. The excursion season opens on April 1. For an almost symbolic fee, adults and children can visit the reserve, and if desired, even ride in a horse-drawn carriage.

Lotus fields and pelicans in Vilkovo

In the Odessa region is located the town of Vylkove. It is worth mentioning because not far from it is the Danube Biosphere Reserve, located in the Danube Delta, where the river enters the Black Sea. This place is also called zero kilometer. Beautiful dense floodplain forests, bays make up the landscapes of these places. Whole fields of lotuses will present unforgettable pictures to your eyes. In the reserve you can meet many rare animals and fish, dense flocks of pelicans.

Danube herring comes here from the Black Sea to spawn, which fishermen wait for almost a year - it is considered a delicious delicacy, because it is fatter than the one we are used to and much more tender and tasty.

An island of untouched nature. Selezovka

Zhytomyr region hides among its forests a small island of untouched wilderness. This is the Polissya Nature Reserve between the Bolotnytsia and Ubort rivers, the center of which is located in the village of Selezivka. Here is incredibly beautiful nature, pine forests resembling taiga, lakes, streams. Forest thickets are full of animals, among which you can meet moose, lynx, here in the spring black grouse flock, entertaining random spectators with their mating games. At night you can hear the cries of owls.

In the reserve you can visit the local open-air museum called "Drevlyanskoye Village". If you wish, you can spend the night in a colorful house with a stove.

Blooming irises in Chernihiv region

Between the Desna and the Dnieper in the Chernihiv region, not far from Kyiv, is the Mezhrichynskyi Regional Landscape Park. It and several others like it are part of the Mezhinsky Switzerland complex. At one time, there were military bases here, which means that the territory was closed, which allowed this place to preserve its original purity and beauty. Explosion craters. What remains today give the landscape a touch of some fantasy, and in spring the fields are decorated with blooming irises. If you stay here until the end of May, you can enjoy the unique, intensively blooming forbs on the Bondarovsky swamp, admire the flowers of orchids.
