Most often, when planning a vacation, we first of all remember and imagine popular resorts, attractions, distant places where we have not been before. However, you can also have a great vacation in more accessible and close places, for example, villages that are not so far away. After all, what is needed for a good, full-fledged vacation is picturesque, clean nature, fresh air, comfort, peace and delicious food.

 

Kolochava. Transcarpathian region

This village is also called the longest village in Ukraine - it stretches for as much as 40 km. The mountain landscapes delight with their beauty, and there are also springs with mineral crystal water. Bakota. Khmelnytskyi region

The name of the settlement translates as “desired place”, and this place is truly amazing. All the guests who have visited these places at least once immediately became attached to them with all their hearts. Once Bakota was even the capital of Podillia. However, historically everything changed in 1255, when with the appearance of the Tatar-Mongol troops the village was practically wiped off the face of the earth. Years passed, and the village was restored, but in 1981, due to the construction of the Novodniestrovsk hydroelectric power station, the village was flooded. Today, only those who are interested in the history of their native lands know about the village. From them you can learn about the ruins of a monastery in a rock, which was created a long time ago by Anthony, who founded the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.

Dzembronya. Ivano-Frankivsk region

This is the place where clouds are born. In fact, this village is one of those many villages located high in the mountains, among other similar settlements in Ukraine. It was here that Vasyl Stefanyk and Lesya Ukrainka once came to seek their muse and inspiration. It is said that the wonderful landscapes and picturesque places of this village also became a source of inspiration for Sergei Parajanov when he was filming his cult film "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors."

Mezin. Chernihiv region

Mezin is a small but very beautiful village on the banks of the Desna River. In itself, it is not something particularly remarkable. But Ukrainian archaeologists and researchers found a very large site here, belonging to the Paleolithic era. Excavations by archaeologists have significantly supplemented the expositions of many museums around the world. The excavation site became the place for the foundation of the museum. Mezin also became the center of the famous national park of the same name, which was created to protect the local heights of the Desna River, covered with forest, which were called "Mezin Switzerland".

Opishnya. Poltava region

This is a Mecca for lovers and connoisseurs of pottery. It is located on the banks of the Vorskla. Here is the National Museum of Ukrainian Pottery, as well as the Institute of Ceramology. If you visit this village, your knowledge and ideas about pottery will be significantly expanded. And you will not be able to resist purchasing at least a small whistle as a souvenir of the skill of local craftsmen.

Iza. Transcarpathian region

If Opishnya is the capital of pottery, then the village of Iza is the center of another art, namely wickerwork. Local craftsmen weave real masterpieces from flexible rods with their own hands. In addition to the wonders of wickerwork, this village attracts guests with incredibly delicious cheeses, which are created by the Baranove cheese factory. The cheeses that come out of its gates are famous throughout the neighboring lands.

Strusiv. Ternopil region

This settlement is rarely included in tourist routes simply because there is very little information about it. In fact, travelers are missing out on a lot, because the village has its own ancient history, which unfolded against the backdrop of magnificent nature and picturesque landscapes. In these places, tourists can see a beautiful Empire-style building - the palace of Count Golukhovsky. There is also a cave church carved in the rocks, and the church of the famous St. Anthony.

Kamiane village. Zhytomyr region

The village is one of the most mysterious villages in Ukraine - no people live here at all. When someone mentions the Trikrat region, associations arise with the glorious family of Cossacks - the Skarzhinskys. The estate of their family has still been preserved in these places. The well-known Viktor Skarzhinsky was born in these places. He devoted his entire conscious life to forestry and botany, and was actively involved in growing artificial forests. It is thanks to him and his work that the Trikrat forest lives today, which includes the protected areas: "Vasilyevsky apiary", "Summer farm of Skarzhinsky", "Labyrinth". Near this place is the Aktovsky canyon, which in addition to this name is also called "Valley of the Devil" or Small Crimea.

Pidhirtsi. Lviv region

In the past, this village was called the “Galician Versailles,” the main feature and decoration of which was the castle of the “Golden Horseshoe of Lviv Region.” There are other places, not only Pidhirtsi Castle, where you can take a peaceful and beautiful walk – for example, in the French park, or go to the Roman Catholic Church of the Exaltation and St. Joseph.

The settlement is famous for the fact that it still carefully preserves the history of the stay of the French writer Honoré de Balzac in it. The walls of the beautiful palace remember the love story of the French writer and the Polish beauty Evelina Hanska. Today, the rooms in which the writer was engaged in his literary activities have become the Balzac Memorial Museum.

Roztoky. Chernivtsi region
