It's nice to know that in Ukraine there are still corners of nature hidden from prying eyes that can become accessible to the curious traveler.
We are so tired of crowds and popular places, where there are always a huge number of tourists, that quiet unknown places become a joy for us and our soul tired of the hustle and bustle. Sometimes we want to be alone with our thoughts, far from the hustle and bustle of civilization and all its benefits. And instead of crowded resorts, which immediately come to mind when we hear the word "vacation", we want a quiet and peaceful solitude with nature. We have compiled a small selection of such places that can calm and give the desired rest to office workers.
Butsky Canyon
The canyon is located in the village of Buki, Mankivskyi district, Cherkasy region.
The canyon in Buk is considered, and not without reason, one of the most beautiful places in Central Ukraine. Its stone banks are about 2 billion years old, they decorate the fast river - the Mountain Tikich. These high, uneven banks have long been visited by climbers who enjoy training in these places.
The Buca Canyon begins at the spillway of the dam of a former hydroelectric power plant, the height of the dam is 2 meters and it is popularly called the Vyr waterfall. It then follows a winding and long ribbon.
Along the canyon are the ruins of an old watermill, which is very picturesque. The mill was built in the 19th century. Now you can enjoy the views of the canyon by getting very close to the water, where you can have a snack, have a picnic, and stay overnight in a tent.
White Lake
Located in the village of Rudka, Volodymyretskyi district, Rivne region. The water in the lake is clean and transparent, possibly due to its karst origin. The bottom is flat, clean and mostly sandy. The lake was so named because of its appearance from a height - its color seems completely white, this effect is obtained as a result of the high content of glycerin in its water. Due to it, the lake acquired healing properties, it also received the name "lake of youth", and its water is soft even to the touch.
Sholokhovsky Cascade Waterfall (or Tokivsky)
The waterfall is located in the village of Tokivske, in the Nikopol district of the Dnipropetrovsk region. In addition to its main name, it is also known as the "Red Stones" waterfall: there is a lot of red granite in these parts. It is generally very characteristic of the Dnipropetrovsk region, often found in architectural and monumental structures. The dimensions of this waterfall are not so large - 14 meters long, the drops can be as small as a few centimeters or as large as several meters. The waterfall originates from a tributary of the river called Bazavluk, and it arose back in the Mesozoic era.
Aktovsky Canyon
It can be found in the village of Aktove, Voznesensky district in the Mykolaiv region. This canyon is interesting for its unusual combination of cliffs hanging over the water, large granite boulders - and rich plant life. It has a second name - "Devil's Canyon", and also "Small Crimea". With its landscapes, it resembles the landscapes of North America. The Mertvorod River flows through this area - it is rich in hydrogen sulfide and therefore has a strange color. However, you can still find places with crystal clear water, suitable for swimming. And not far from the canyon you can find another unusual place - the Trikratsky forest-labyrinth.
Arbuzyn Canyon
This canyon is located near the villages of Trikraty and Aktove, in the Voznesensky district of the Mykolaiv region. It is, in fact, the younger brother of the Aktovsky canyon. It is so called because the Arbuzinka river persistently makes its way between its boulders. According to researchers, the rocks of the canyon, consisting of granite and basalt, were formed about 4 billion years ago. Winter does not come to this area - due to the volcanic origin of the area, because the volcano underlying this area has not completely cooled down to this day.
Both of these canyons are part of a natural park called "Buzkiy Gard".
Kobalar Waterfall (or "Visitor")
This waterfall is located in the village of Peredove, in the Sevastopol district of Crimea.
There is such a category in the classification of waterfalls as ephemeral waterfalls - they appear only when the weather is at least a little wet. Kobalar is one of these waterfalls. Its height is 14 meters, and the water falls into a small lake, while a transparent curtain of drops rises around it. In spring or winter, this spectacle is very beautiful, but in summer the spring usually dries up. And this waterfall got its name Visor because of the similarity of the ledge, from which a small stream flows, with part of a cap.
Blue lakes. Shchurovo
These reservoirs are located in the village of Shchurovo, in the Krasnolymansky district of the Donetsk region.
Their name speaks for itself - the water of the lakes is crystal clear, blue in color and does not tend to stagnate due to the springs that run underground and thus ensure a constant movement of the water flow. The lakes are surrounded by pine forests, clean shores of fine sand.
Silver Waterfall
Located near the village of Sokoline, in the Bakhchisarai district, Crimea.
Being a natural landmark of these places, the waterfall is extremely beautiful regardless of the season. Its full name is the Silver Streams waterfall, it is a thick cap of moss, along which transparent threads of water flow down. It is especially beautiful if you look at its jets in the sunlight - the sprays play, creating small rainbows in each jet.
Bakot Bay
It can be admired in Bakot, Kamianets-Podilskyi district, Khmelnytskyi region.
Its origin is directly related to the time when four villages were flooded in the Dniester Valley. This happened after the construction of the Novodniestrovsk hydroelectric power station was completed. Today, you can see a truly cosmic landscape at this place. This place is surrounded by mountains, which contributed to the formation of a microclimate more typical of southern latitudes. These places will provide entertainment for any traveler, from a beginner to a seasoned one.
Canyon of the Sinyukha River
This canyon is located near the village of Ternivka, in the Novoarkhangelsk district, Kirovograd region.
This place remains little known. The entire river is over 100 km long, and it is one of the cleanest rivers in the country, especially considering that there are absolutely no industrial enterprises along its entire length. The canyon itself occupies a small part of the river, which is natural, but at the same time the most beautiful.
Soledarskoye Lake
Located near the city of Soledar, in the Donetsk region. This reservoir is not so simple, moreover, even a little mysterious. The water temperature in it is anomalous, it is not for nothing that the reservoir is also called a heated lake. The phenomenon of the lake is that, paradoxically, the deeper the place in the lake, the higher the temperature of its water. There were attempts to investigate the local mystery of nature, but it turned out to be not so easy to do this. When scuba divers tried to descend to the bottom of the lake, it was noticed that the water gradually condenses, essentially turning into a kind of liquid glass, while pushing to the surface anyone who tries to descend as low as possible.
Dzhurynskyi Waterfall (Chervonogradskyi)
It is located near the village of Nyrkiv, in the Zalishchytskyi district of the Ternopil region.
This waterfall is the largest flat waterfall in all of Ukraine. There is a version that its occurrence is natural. According to legend, more than four centuries ago, one of the regular raids of the Turkish army took place, and the invaders were able to redirect the Dzhuryn River bed in the other direction: so the attackers hoped that when the city residents were exhausted by thirst, they themselves would open the city gates and remove the defenses. Near the waterfall you can see the ruins that remained from the Chervonohrad Castle: the city itself has long disappeared, but its ruins remained and you can admire them against the backdrop of the landscapes of these places.
Lake Cahul
Located near the village of Nahirne, in the Reniysky district of the Odessa region.
This is a Ukrainian lake that amazes with its beauty. In addition to this feature, it is also the southernmost point, not counting the Crimea. Birds come here to wait out the winter cold, here you can see their numerous nests hidden in the rocks. The lake is surrounded by a typically southern landscape. The temperature is high here, there are few people around. In general, if you are drawn to relax from the human and city bustle - this place will be to your liking.
Kok-Asan Canyon
You can get to it by going to the village of Povorotne in the Bilogirsky district of the Odessa region.
This waterfall monument of the Eastern Crimea is formed by the Kuchuk-Karasu River, it is deserted and consists of several cascades. It includes four large waterfalls, each of these waterfalls consists of a different number of rapids-cascades, and together it all makes up the Chemerisovsky waterfalls. The highest of them is the Russian Hill, along its massif, consisting of rocks, streams of water flow in zigzags. There are also the so-called "baths of youth" - small lakes with transparent, cool and clean water.
