Nature is the best creator, it creates beautiful landscapes, sculptures, paintings, using all the variety of shapes, colors, and silhouettes.
Dendrological parks are places where you can find a lot of plants, often exotic ones, where they are cultivated, grown and cared for. Decorative structures, ponds, sculptures, among which sometimes imitations of world masterpieces, appear next to them as if by themselves.
In order for us to be able to enjoy such places in peace, decades of hard and painstaking work have gone into creating them.
But the most important thing about them is the love and attention that the people who work in the park constantly invest in them: gardeners, foresters, sculptors.
Our country is rich in such parks, some of the arboretums have more than two hundred years of history. Some of them are considered the oldest in Europe, some were created recently and are only gaining their natural and aesthetic strength, developing and replenishing with new species of plants and monuments. Unfortunately, many parks deserve more attention and care than they receive, and are waiting for reconstruction or at least a careful and tidy attitude. Unfortunately, very often you can find parks that are neglected or used for other purposes or uneconomically.
Today we suggest you travel through the most beautiful dendrological parks in Ukraine. Some of them are well known to everyone, and some are not so popular but no less interesting and vibrant.
Sofiivka
It is located in the city of Uman, Cherkasy region. Its area is 179.2 hectares.
Today it is the largest and richest arboretum in our country, one of the most striking and beautiful places. The creation of the park is surrounded by legends about the love of Stanislav Potocki for his wife - Sophia. The park was named in her honor. In addition to the park, a space asteroid was named in honor of Potocki, and a poem written by the Polish writer Trembecki was also dedicated to him.
The landscapes of Sofiyivskyi Park are reminiscent of Ancient Greece, and in places Rome. There are fountains, waterfalls, ponds, lakes, rocks, among which statues of Roman and Greek gods are hidden. This park is a monument of landscape art of the late 17th - first half of the 19th century.
Its importance is very great, as evidenced by numerous awards, medals, diplomas. In the park you can find almost only ancient statues. This is explained by the fact that the composition of the park itself was planned by the architect as a reproduction of some elements and sculptures based on the works of Homer - "Iliad" and "Odyssey". Starting from the central entrance, we see details of ancient architecture: the gates remind us of the Athenian market with its entrance, the watchtowers are similar to elements of the temple of the goddess Vesta. Interestingly, the towers that today decorate the central entrance have survived to our times since the middle of the 19th century.
Park Alexandria
Located in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region. The area is about 290 hectares.
This arboretum is considered one of the largest parks in Ukraine. It is located on the banks of the Ros River, in addition, it has a lot of decorative ponds. As for the buildings and architecture, the style of the classicism era is clearly visible here. The construction of the park was carried out since the 18th century by order of Count Branytsky. The park was named after his wife. Many celebrities and notable persons visited here during its existence. Alexandria served as a muse for many singers, poets and artists and became the subject of praise in their poems, poems, and paintings. If we talk about architecture, then little has survived to this day - except for the Gardener's House, everything else has been redesigned and reconstructed many times. The park is famous for its unique buildings, unusual plants and attracts a large number of visitors, creating a romantic mood, a feeling of touching something wonderful, as if you had inhaled the aroma of a forest fairy tale.
Trostyanets
Located in the village of Trostyanets, Ichnyanskyi district, Chernihiv region. It occupies 350 hectares of land. This park was created on the initiative and thanks to the funds of Ivan Mykhailovych Skoropadskyi, in the middle of the 19th century. The basis for the construction of the park was the Big Pond. It still elegantly divides the territory of the park into two parts today.
Later, numerous mounds were built in the park, with their sharp peaks resembling the Alps.
The park has over 800 species of various plants, there is quite a lot of exotic flora. Some time before Skoropadsky's death, an interesting statue of a marble angel pointing to the sky was installed, it attracts the attention of visitors even today. The statue seems to serve as a reminder that the guests' walks are possible thanks to Ivan Skoropadsky, that this park brought him comfort and joy at one time, and that if a visitor suddenly sees a violation of the park's harmony or any disorder, then it is in his power to point this out to the garden owner or eliminate it himself, and this will be a good deed.

One of the park's famous places is its linden alley, lush and majestic. There is also a friendship alley and a lovers' alley. Friendship alley is so called because various visitors often planted various seedlings on it, which later took root and decorated the park. Today, Taras willow grows here: at one time, a twig of the tree was brought from Kazakhstan from a tree that, according to legend, was planted by Shevchenko himself. According to some researchers, the Kobzar went into exile and took a twig of willow with him, where he planted it.
