For International Women's Day, we have prepared a small selection of the most famous Ukrainian women. All of them have achieved success in different fields, differ in age and profession, but they are united by a thirst for action and a desire to achieve their goals.
Lina Kostenko, poet and prose writer
There are few people who would not read her works. Kostenko’s richly figurative and often poignant poetry is a reflection of her principled nature (it is not for nothing that the poetess is called the conscience of the nation). She refused the title of Hero of Ukraine, because she considers it “political jewelry”. Kostenko’s latest book, “Notes of a Ukrainian Self-Made Man”, caused a huge stir, literary evenings with the poetess were sold out. Despite her advanced age, the poetess continues to actively defend her beliefs.
Sofia Andrukhovych, writer and translator

In recent years, Vitovskaya has been one of the leading actresses of the Young Theater. She has many roles not only in theater performances, but also in TV series, prestigious prizes and awards. Yulia Mostova, editor-in-chief of the publication “Mirror of the Week. Ukraine”
In 1994, she and her father founded the weekly, which has been the country's leading analytical publication for many years. She has won many professional awards, and the publication is a staple for both politicians and ordinary Ukrainians.

She has about 20 films in her track record, each of which is a high-profile event in the world of cinema. Some of them were banned at one time, but almost all of them were awarded at prestigious competitions and film festivals not only in Ukraine but also abroad. It is a pity that after the film “Eternal Return”, the film director announced that she would not be making any more films.
Bohdana Pavlychko, director of the publishing house "Osnovy"
She comes from a famous writing family: granddaughter of Dmytro Pavlychko and Pavlo Zagrebelny, daughter of Solomiya Pavlychko. In 2011, Bohdana headed the publishing house Osnovy, and in a few years she rebuilt the publishing house's work according to Western standards and focused on book design, which allowed to increase sales and make a name for the publishing house.
